to mid 40's. 46 degrees in stafford. lisa baden has the traffic report. >> not much happening. things are very smooth around the beltway. no overnight construction to move out of the way. no problems on the road. things are running very nicely. on the beltway at 50 it looks fine. in springfield, va., the southbound from the beltway to fredericksburg looks fine so far. traffic patterns will be a little different with the the holidays approaching. we will keep an eye on traffic in town and around town for the next few days. >> breaking news out of fairfax. firefighters are battling a house fire. it broke out at 3:00 to 15 on school street. it does not appear anybody was in the house. no injuries reported. >> but we are turning to our other top story. new safety questions about the metro silver line expansion out to the beltway. >> if safety investigation is under way as to whether steel pilings can support the bridge. >> these 1 once forgotten pilings are at the center of a federal safety investigation. there were created in 1977 to one day holdup a bridge for metro trains. that day has

every 10 minutes. >> let's start with lisa baden. >> i am on the phone with someone at the wtop traffic hot line. even though the travel lanes are open, it is kind of a blinding kind of thing. nothing blinding on the greenway. we will give you the normal travel times on 66 and along 270. that is a pretty decent run between father hurley boulevard and the beltway. it looks like the run-up is uneventful. things are good in maryland between washington boulevard. this is live in montgomery county. no problems to report through the district along new york avenue, kenilworth avenue. a choir ride along pennsylvaa avenue and on to the southeast- sap southwest freeway. everything on route 4 is open for you. we look good on branch avenue. normal volume will start to grow leaving the pontiac dealer. in case you want case you228 to head on over to 210 into oxon hill, things running smoothly. 70 books good between hagerstown and baltimore. we have a heavier volume of traffic to get down to the beltway. 355 is also good heading down to hyattstown and hopping onto the interstate right there. nothing c

. temperatures will be near 60 degrees. looking pretty good into tomorrow, as well. now back to lisa baden with our friday commute. >> there is an accident 66 eastbound just after 495. for those who want to continue past the beltway, you cannot. this is video of an accident that happened shortly after 3:00 a.m. this morning. 66 eastbound is closed just after 495. traffic cannot exit onto the inner and outer loop. traffic is forced to go north on 495 and over to leesburg pike. there was a fuel spill. there is a lot of cleanup underway. if you normally travel north on 495, you need to understand there will be more traffic between 66 and route 7 with people normally going past the beltway that will be joining you. we're not talking about maryland because there's not much to say. kind of the normal stuff to say on the baltimore. good out of baltimore. >> thank you. >>> just about 5:12. there will be a lot of sleep the students in class today. you cannot blame on "new moon" mania.
